Look out for More A3 Models

If Audi wasn’t already providing buyers with enough of a selection they are planning on adding in three more A3 models to the overall range and really round out their offerings. The new offerings that Audi are considering are pretty surprising, and what’s even more surprising is that they would be evolved from the current A3 model. While they each sound appealing, they are wildly different from one another.

The Current Offerings

Currently the A3 is offered around the world as a three-door hatchback, a five-door hatch and a two-door convertible as well as the ever popular four –door sedan. The three-door hatch isn’t available in the US, but it’s probably going to be cut pretty soon in Europe as well thanks to sluggish sales over there. These offerings are all pretty standard for the entry-level Audi, but the automaker is looking at three different options that are wildly different compared to what you can currently get.

The Potentiel Offers

Audi is looking at a few new options that will be wildly different than what the A3 currently is. The first is a tall crossover version of the A3 that would be a bit more rugged and over more headroom to riders. The next is a four-door coupe model that would appeal to families and offer a bit more style to the larger market. The last, and most surprising, is a seven-seat van. Although it’s hard to imagine Audi selling a seven seat van at all, or the A3 being transformed into such a vehicle, there’s plenty of support saying that it could pay off. Porsche is certainly doing pretty well in the crossover market, and there’s no reason that Audi shouldn’t push further into markets that it’s not tapping much at the moment.

When are They Coming ?

There’s no guarantee that these new models are coming for sure, but they are all being strongly considered and you should expect at least one or two of the models. When they are approved the are expected to be released sometime in 2018 around the time when the next A3 model will be unveiled. If you’re waiting for an Audi van and you simply have to have one, you shouldn’t get your hopes up too much because there’s no guarantee that any of the models are going to happen for sure. Audi fans should expect some exciting new changes in store for the future of the A3, and they could be in some pretty interesting forms that make Audi into a more family-friendly automaker.
