Audi’s next-generation e-tron GT electric performance sedan is just about ready to go into production, Audi saying its new EV will begin being built in spring 2021.

The most powerful electric vehicle coming from Audi, the Audi e-tron GT will be built at the Böllinger Höfe which uses 100-percent eco-electricity and is heated through energy regeneration. The end result is a net carbon-neutral production process that also avoids using paper or packaging.

In other words, the Audi e-tron GT won’t just be efficient when it hits the road, it will also contribute to reducing emissions when being built.

“As the electric and sporty spearhead of the Audi product portfolio, the e-tron GT is also a perfect fit for the Neckarsulm site, especially for the Böllinger Höfe sports car production facility,” says plant manager Helmut Stettner.

The Audi e-tron GT is the fastest car ever developed by Audi and will begin production in record time. Fully electric, the e-tron GT is expected to provide over 300 kilometres of range and offer varying levels of performance with over 600 horsepower in its top trim. Audi says it will be an authentic sports car, even offering e-sound enhancement to further the driving experience.
