Audi E-Tron RS GT Concept: The Electric Road King

Revolutionary in design, the E-Tron RS GT Concept is set to make its highly anticipated appearance on Canadian roads. It carries over the heart of the GT into a four-door sports sedan that achieves exhilarating performance. The low and wide profile adds up to an elegantly modern interpretation of the classic GT.

 

The Audi E-Tron RS GT Concept delivers electrified exhilaration 

Dual electric motors provide the base for a powertrain that consistently produces 590 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque that transfers to all wheels. When the overboost function and launch control are applied, power increases even more for brief periods. Each electric motor is mounted on an axle which speeds up torque vectoring.

What's even more exciting is the performance that results from this powertrain. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and reach 200 km/h in just over 12 seconds.

The advanced braking system works directly with the physical brakes to recoup energy and transfer it to the battery system. This increases electric range. Full range estimates have not been released at the time of this publication, but the GT Concept plans to deliver impressive numbers.

The Audi E-Tron RS GT Concept makes charging easy

 E-Tron RS GT Concept drivers won't have much patience to get back on the road, so Audi has enabled quick charging with an 800-volt system. It delivers up to 80% charge (from empty) in about 20 minutes.

Outside the vehicle, you'll find more innovative designs that contribute to the aesthetics and function. The 22" inch wheels with a five-spoke design look like they are from a sci-fi movie. However, the design helps the brakes ventilate while reducing power-consuming drag.

Audi, a leader in automotive lighting, doesn't rest with the GT Concept. Lighting animation flows through the system upon reaching the vehicle, and signature and laser lighting light up the path throughout your journey.

A luxury performance sedan doesn't have to lack space for storage. The GT Concept opens up 450 litres of volume in the trunk and 100 litres—under the hood.
