The 2022 Audi Q5 offers outstanding power
The Q5 family offers a long list of powertrains that fulfill a range of driving styles. This includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that outputs 261 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The engine also pairs with a mild hybrid system for more efficiency. The 45 TFSI powertrain is available in many Q5 grades.
Moving up, the 55 TFSI e plug-in hybrid engine is efficient, but also deploys plenty of driving dynamics. It generates an impressive 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The performance-infused SQ5 features 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
The BMW X3 series also offers a few powertrain options, but they aren't quite the same where it counts. The xDrive30i 2.0-litre four-cylinder produces 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, which falls short of the Q5's 45 TFSI-powered engine. The xDrive30e Plug-In offers a 288-horsepower engine that has a reduced power output in comparison to the Q5's PHEV. Although the BMW M40i has the most horsepower at 382, the Q5 PHEV and SQ5 have more torque.
The Q5 offers very competitive power against the non-M X3 series.

Although both vehicles have similar exterior dimensions, the Q5 has an advantageous interior. It has more front and rear head room and leg room and rear shoulder room. The X3 only offers a slight edge in cargo volume, but passenger comfort counts more, and that's where the Q5 shines.
The Q5 family also offers the Sportback models. They offer a rear body style that emphasizes sportiness without sacrificing interior volume that many sport models do. The X3 doesn't offer such variety in its lineup.
