Book A Test Drive

Unveiled earlier in August, the Audi Skysphere concept is a futuristic electric vehicle with a bold and aggressive design that packs a range of technologies that could very well become the norm in 30 years. The goal of the Audi Skysphere is to show us what Audi has in store for its future vehicles, and give us a glimpse into the future of the automobile industry in the process.
The first thing that stands out about the Skysphere is its ability to transform itself based on different driving situations. Indeed, the Audi Skysphere can shift its shape depending on the drive mode selected using an adaptable wheelbase, and the steering wheel can retract and stow away when the vehicle is driving itself.
This means that the Skysphere is essentially two vehicles in one. The first is a sporty roadster that reaches 100 km/h in four seconds and delivers 553 pound-feet of torque. From there, the wheelbase can expand, adding 10 inches of length and turning the Skysphere into a comfortable grand tourer. Unveiled at Monterey Car Week, the Skysphere also boasts a new design language that could become the basis for the future of Audi, and an interior that is an evolved version of the current dual-screen Audi layout.
Powered with an electric powertrain, Audi says the Skysphere can reach over 500 kilometres on a single charge. The Skysphere is the first in a long line of upcoming Audi concepts that will include the Grandsphere and the Urbansphere.
