The next engine you can get with the NX is a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder with an output of 275 horsepower. But this doesn’t come close to the SQ5 engine, which delivers a whopping 349 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque thanks to turbocharged six-cylinder engine.

The Lexus NX also has a PHEV variant, but it doesn’t compete with the Q5 TFSI e, which is the PHEV in the Q5 lineup and one of the best on the market. It delivers 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The NX 450H+ can only deliver 304 horsepower.

The Audi Q5 uses a quick-shifting 7-speed automatic transmission, which feeds the world-renowned Quattro AWD system – a system that is more capable and advanced in all conditions when compared to the NX’s system, especially on curvy roads, where the Audi will take a bite out of the NX any day!

Even with greater performance, a good luxury compact SUV must be comfortable and spacious. That’s why the Audi Q5 provides more space for passengers, but also for cargo. In normal configuration, the Q5 provides 725 litres of cargo space behind the second row. Fold that row and get 1,515 litres of volume. In the NX, you will only get 643 litres in normal configuration, and 1,328 litres of maximum volume.
