When searching for our next vehicle, we have many options available to us. We can choose new vehicles, used vehicles, certified pre-owned vehicles or demo vehicles. If you have been shopping for a new vehicle recently, you may have come across demo vehicles. These are essentially vehicles that fall between new and used vehicles. Demo vehicles have many benefits that we will explore here.
The Demo Vehicle Explained
However, before we get into some of these benefits offered by a demo vehicle, we thought we'd take a look at what exactly this type of vehicle is.
An Audi demo has some mileage and has typically been used in the dealership by the sales team or sales managers. It has some mileage, but it is not mileage that has been accumulated after the vehicle has been sold to a customer or individual outside the dealership. In addition, sometimes demo vehicles are used by the manufacturer or dealership for test drives by customers.
The main characteristic of Audi demo vehicles is that they have low mileage, usually less than 15,000 km and often less than 5,000 km. In addition, they are fairly new and are rarely more than one or two years old. That's why we say they fall between new and used vehicles.
This has many advantages. For starters, demo vehicles are usually offered with the same financing and leasing deals as new vehicles. This means that you can get better financing terms than you would normally find on used vehicles.
In addition, demo vehicles usually still have a good portion of the new vehicle warranty still in effect. Demo vehicles are protected by the same warranty as new vehicles because they have low mileage and have not been registered for very long. This means they are still covered by the original warranty and the powertrain warranty.
This means that you will be protected longer than with a traditional used vehicle or even a certified pre-owned vehicle. If your demo was registered six months ago and has only 5,000 kilometers, for example, you still have 42 months of protection or 75,000 kilometers.
In short, the main advantage of a demo is that it gives you a low-mileage, late-model Audi with a long warranty and attractive financing terms, all for less than an equivalent new vehicle.
