2019 Audi TTS: Stylish Performance
Since the Audi TT first made its vehicular debut about 20 years ago, it’s been a style icon for the auto industry and the German manufacturer. The peppy two-seater has a unique look that sets it apart from the rest of the Audi lineup, with a performance and fun-to-drive nature to boot.
At the moment, there are no North American-specific details for the all-new 2019 Audi TTS, however, details have been released for Europe, and we can assume the NA version will be largely the same save for potentially different front bumper for safety regulations and different engine choices.
Even though the 2019 Audi TTS has been largely updated, you’ll instantly recognize it as Audi designers kept the signature and instantly recognizable exterior silhouette intact. Even the round gas cap cover is still there, however, the TTS now sports more muscular lines along with the rounded edges. And while some of the nuances may change when it jumps across the pond, the 2019 Audi TTS also sports the new front grille.
It’s inside there the changes are really noticeable. First, it’s immediately obvious that Audi chose to really focus on the driver and driver, as there is no centre stack touchscreen. It’s not hidden in the dash it’s just not there. Instead, all necessary information is contained and accessible in the 12.3” digital screen behind the steering wheel.
There’s also something else “missing” in the 2019 Audi TTS: a manual option. For now, the sporty coupe only comes with a standard, and new for the 2019 model year, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel for optimal performance driving.
That transmission should be paired with Audi’s reworked version of the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 292 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. And power is, of course, sent to all four wheels via Audi’s renowned Quattro system.
The 2019 Audi TTS hasn’t arrived in North America just yet, but when it does, you’ll want to head down to your local Glenmore Audi dealer to speak to one of our experts about this dynamic two-seater, and don’t forget to book a test drive, too.
