Three Things to Know: 2019 Audi e-tron
As the automotive world slowly but surely makes the transition to fully electric vehicles, Audi has embarked on the movement full force with their latest offering to the EV movement; the 2019 Audi e-tron.
As Audi’s first fully electric vehicle, the e-tron is a shining example of Audi listening to not only the market but its clients as well, offering up a vehicle that fits the uber popular crossover mold, while also being environmentally friendly, and easier on the wallet with no more stops at the gas station.
So, what do you need to know about the 2019 Audi e-tron? Here are the top three things.
3 - Power and range
The 2019 Audi e-tron crossover houses two electric motors (95.0kWh lithium battery pack) under its attractive shell that helps power both the front and rear wheels to provide drivers with that renowned Audi Quattro AWD. In normal driving positions, the rear wheels will do most of the work, but thanks to the motor split, the Audi e-tron can provide solid grip and AWD when needed.
The dual motors produce 355 horsepower and 414 lb-ft of torque in regular driving mode, however, there is a sport mode. That mode unlocks a bit more power and can briefly unlock 402 horses and 490 lb-ft of torque.
In terms of range, while it depends largely on driving style and conditions, the EPA-rated range of the 2019 Audi e-tron has a total range of approximately 328 km.
2 – The 2019 Audi e-tron is a bit of a technological marvel
Step inside the all-new e-tron and you’re instantly greeted by an interior that is somewhat familiar, and yet light-years ahead of any Audi currently on the road today.
From the circuit-board stitching to the flush dual screens in the centre stack, everything about the inside of the 2019 Audi e-tron screams the future. With a simple-to-use HMI system that’s beautifully at your fingertips thanks to the dual screens, the Audi e-tron also features Audi’s beautiful Virtual Cockpit.
And if the interior isn’t impressive enough, the smooth, one-button push charge port opening movement surely will be. You have to see it to believe it, so we highly recommend you do.
1 – This is Audi’s first ever full EV
After years of producing performance-driven and AWD-capable vehicles, the German automaker has plunged into the world of electric vehicles in the best way possible. Creating a vehicle to rival some of the most popular full battery-powered vehicles on the road today, Audi has done something some only dream of doing: engineered a vehicle that’s as unique as it is familiar. Everything about the 2019 Audi e-tron is new, and yet it is immediately recognizable as an Audi in every sense of the word. From drivability to design to interior comfort.
