2026 Audi SQ7 Maple Leaf Edition

I like to think of myself as a proud Canadian through and through. I love all things Canada! Hockey, winter, saying "sorry," and, of course, a well-placed "eh!" So, since July is Canada’s official birthday month, I thought: what better car to celebrate and select for our Car Of The Month than the 2026 Audi SQ7 Maple Leaf Edition?

To me, I feel such an immense sense of pride and joy to know that Canada is the only market that has received a dedicated country “nod” design cue on any Audi vehicle. Meaning, there are no other Audi vehicles currently made that feature an exclusive country icon or badging; Audi chose to make this line strictly exclusive to the SQ7 and SQ8. The main reason the Maple Leaf Edition line is offered only in the SUV lineup is based on Canada being one of Audi’s most important global markets for purchasing capable, quattro all-wheel drive vehicles. Between our diverse landscapes, vast geographical scales, and of course, our notoriously harsh winters, Audi gave us an exclusive vehicle design aspect as a true token of appreciation. When spending time with this vehicle, I took all of this into consideration, and it made me genuinely excited to explore this Audi. I already knew that the regular SQ7 was something special, but having one that directly symbolizes the Great White North was something truly extraordinary.

This SQ7 in particular comes finished in Mythos Black with a Black Valcona leather interior highlighted by bold Crimson Red stitching. You can also find that Crimson Red featured in the seatbelts, the general accent stitching throughout the interior, and embroidered right into the headrests with the Audi Sport Maple Leaf emblem. I believe it is one thing to have customized features on the exterior of a car, which this Maple Leaf Edition certainly has as well, but to enjoy dedicated features on the interior where only the occupants get to view, raises the feeling of exclusivity to an entirely new level.

When I was driving this car, I felt like it truly had it all. I like to think of the SQ7 as the fully-equipped chariot of the Audi lineup. On the inside, you have a complete host of all the typical creature comforts that you would expect from a top-tier luxury vehicle today. However, to me, the unique elements that really stood out were the pure, effortless comfort paired with raw power. Under the hood, it boasts 500 horsepower and can launch from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, thanks to its muscular 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine and smooth 8-speed tiptronic gearbox. The driving experience felt as if I could go anywhere or do anything.

I have always viewed the Q7 line as having something for everyone. If you have a lot of passengers, no worries, it comes standard with three-row seating. Pure comfort? Absolutely, you have plush massaging seats to relax you on long drives. Sound and driving excitement? Of course, you have the rumble of the quad-tipped sport exhaust system. With all of the SQ7's built-in features and abilities, every trip felt like a true driving pleasure. It also has the engineering to walk the walk if you're in the mood for a more spirited drive. The SQ7 features four-wheel steering for easier maneuverability during both low-speed parking maneuvers and high-speed cornering, while also utilizing its Sport adaptive air suspension to dynamically adjust ride height and damper settings. The result is dramatically improved driving dynamics and body control. Spending time in the SQ7, not only was I wrapped in Canadian pride, but this SUV felt like it truly lived up to its name category: SUV. It has everything you would ever need to enjoy any style of driving or practical task.

Not only is the Maple Leaf Edition exclusive in its design, but also in its production. This SQ7 is limited to just 55 units in total! This means that you not only look good in Canadian fashion, but you’re sitting right at the top of the VIP list for owning one of the most exclusive SUVs in all of Canada. Normally, securing a custom Audi Exclusive interior or vehicle means waiting about 5 to 6 months for a factory order to be built and delivered, but this showroom-ready edition gives you that high-level bespoke personalization right now.

One of the best aspects of the Maple Leaf Edition is the simple fact that it is an SUV. Often, I find that these super-exclusive options or rare customization packages are placed on cars that are so radical and extreme that you don’t actually get to spend as much time driving them as you would like. Don’t get me wrong, having an exclusive Canadian-themed track toy sounds like something I would love to see come down the pipe from Audi! But the fact that this specific vehicle is a practical SUV makes it all the better. SUVs are some of the most popular vehicles on the road in Canada today, and thanks to Audi recognizing our deep love for capable utility vehicles, we got one of our very own. This means that with every routine grocery run, come sun, snow, and knowing Calgary weather, sun again twenty minutes later, you are able to comfortably drive your SQ7 all year round.

The three design aspects that are my favourite go together like a Canadian's love for maple syrup. When walking up to the car, you are met with a sleek glass graphic Audi Sport Maple Leaf emblem on the exterior of the rear passenger window. Then, opening the door, you see the crisp puddle light illuminating that same emblem on the pavement. And for the crescendo, pulling the door shut reminds you with the sill badging that you are closing the door on a rare Audi Exclusive vehicle.

To put the curds and gravy on the poutine, I truly do love this car, so much so that it is my absolute favourite Audi SUV in current production. Of course, a huge part of that is not only the Canadian-themed livery inside and out, but what this car actually stands for. It recognizes the Canadian way of living, our unique driving conditions, and what we genuinely enjoy driving every day. It symbolizes a sincere thank-you from a company that deeply appreciates its Canadian drivers. The 2026 SQ7 Maple Leaf Edition is a breath of fresh air; it takes the practical everyday SUV and gives it genuine supercar customization and exclusivity. Canada has never looked so good on four wheels.
