These dynamic, performance-focused SUVs offer luxury and other amenities that place them at the top of the pyramid in the SUV world.

The exterior design of both vehicles is quite similar, with minor dimensional differences we'll cover later. The SQ7 and SQ8 feature sport trim enhancements over their Q7 and Q8 counterparts that earn them the "S" designation.

Both offer the Black Optics Package that adds black roof rails, body-coloured mirrors, black bumper accents, and more.

The SQ7 and SQ8 share a legendary powertrain

Both are powered by the same engine—a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo eight-cylinder that delivers 500 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque.

The pair also feature S tuned adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering, providing better ride quality and agility at all speeds. Adjustable drive modes give drivers greater choice on how their vehicles respond to various road conditions.

The optional Dynamic Plus Package installs a 48-volt, electromechanical active roll stabilization system (eAWS) that works to level the body when cornering for a more dynamic drive, but it also helps reduce vibrations. This package also includes a sport differential that vectors torque.

They offer so much inside

The interiors of the SQ7 and SQ8 share an abundance of technology and active safety technologies. Two split-screen displays convey important information in a stacked layout, with the top display measuring at 10.1 inches and bottom at 8.1 inches.

When you are ready for serious entertainment, just switch on the 1,920 watt Bang and Olufsen stereo system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto offer smooth integration and more communication and entertainment options.

The optional Driver Assistance Package enhances the existing driver assistance platform with Intersection Assistant, Audi Active Cruise Assist, Predictive Efficiency Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Turn Assist, Emergency Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition. The SQ8 also adds Audi Active Lane Depart Warning to this package.

The SQ7 and SQ8 have more noticeable differences, too. The SQ7 is longer and higher and seats up to seven passengers with a third row. The SQ8 is a five-seater. Due to its greater length and height, the SQ7 has up to 2,027 litres of cargo volume compared to the SQ8's offers 1,719. The SQ7 has slightly more occupant headroom, and the SQ8 manages more rear legroom.
