The 2022 Audi A4 is one of the safest premium compact sedans on the market due to its large number of active and passive safety technologies, of which three are presented here.

The pre sense system

The 2022 Audi A4 comes standard with the pre sense city and pre sense rear systems and the higher trim levels add the pre sense front system. This technology is constantly on the lookout for a potential collision. If the system detects an imminent collision with an object or another car, it prepares the A4 in order to give you more time to react and avoid the collision or to better protect you in an accident. This works by acting on many systems of the vehicle, such as closing the windows and sunroof while the seat gets itself in the safest position to protect against the force of the impact.

The Quattro AWD system

One of the best-known characteristics of Audi vehicles is their Quattro all-wheel drive system, which is one of the most advanced such system on the market. The 2022 Audi A4 is no exception. Since it is mostly designed to improve the A4’s performance, the Quattro system offers a great level of tire grip on any surfaces, which not only prevents the A4 from getting stuck in the snow, it also makes for safer cornering and road holding. Since the Quattro system uses a torque vectoring feature, it can send the engine’s power to any of the four wheels in order to create a steering force in the direction opposite of the powered wheels. This can be helpful in the winter, where the torque vectoring system can help make it round corners quicker and safer.

The Rear side airbags

The 2022 Audi A4 offers rear side airbags, a valuable option if you often carry passengers in the rear seat. Front side airbags have proven their effectiveness long ago since they were introduced in the mid-90s, but rear side airbags are still very rare. Audi is one of the few companies that can install them in your vehicle as an option. Just like the side airbags in the front, those inflatable bags are designed to protect the torso and arms of the rear passengers in case of a side impact.
